☕ About the competition
The 2026 Fijian Barista Competition is organised by South Pacific Coffee Company, with the final taking place at HOTEC on Thursday, 22 October 2026, at the Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa.
The competition is designed as a development pathway, not just a one-day contest. Its purpose is to strengthen barista skills across Fiji through training, preparation and competition experience.
The competition format and judging criteria are adapted from Specialty Coffee Association guidelines and simplified to ensure they are fair and achievable for both new and experienced competitors.
Entry is open to everyone. You do not need to be employed by a hotel, resort or café to participate.
🌺 Regional training and heats
SPCC will conduct training and regional heats in September to help baristas develop their skills and prepare for the competition.
The training will cover espresso preparation, grinder and equipment setup, milk texturing, barista workflow, competition expectations and judging criteria.
Session times and further venue instructions will be provided once registration is confirmed. Additional training sessions may be arranged if there is sufficient interest, with a minimum of six participants required.

📋 Registration and payment
Payment must be made in advance to secure your training or competition place. Spaces are limited and will not be held without payment.
If a company pays on behalf of a participant, the registration remains with that company. The company may nominate a replacement participant if the original participant becomes unavailable or changes employment.
